Be Still & Know:
The Polly Sheppard Story

Launching Lumina Television Network with a powerful message of faith, resilience, remembrance, and healing.

“One Night. One Story. One Million Watching Together.”

ATLANTA, GA — June 2026

On June 17, 2026, audiences nationwide will gather for a powerful evening of remembrance, reflection, faith, and healing as Be Still & Know: The Polly Sheppard Story premieres exclusively on Lumina Television Network.

Viewers can tune in at www.luminanetwork.tv .

Premiering exactly eleven years after the tragic massacre at Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church in Charleston, South Carolina, the documentary recounts the extraordinary story of Mother Polly Sheppard, a survivor of the June 17, 2015 shooting that killed nine worshippers during a Wednesday evening Bible study.

Positioned as a national faith and remembrance event during Juneteenth week, the documentary invites viewers on an intimate journey centered on survival, courage, forgiveness, justice, and spiritual resilience.

“This is more than a documentary premiere. It is a national moment of reflection and purpose.” — Martin Luther Wardlaw, Executive Producer and Founder of Lumina Television Network

Through Mother Polly’s deeply personal testimony, the film examines the lasting impact of racial violence in America and illuminates the enduring power of faith, humanity, and healing.

Directed and produced with an immersive cinematic approach, the documentary blends vérité-style filmmaking, archival footage, emotionally driven sound design, and visually poetic reenactments to honor the lives lost and celebrate survivors’ resilience.

“Lumina was built on the belief that light still belongs in the world.” — Martin Luther Wardlaw

The premiere also marks the official launch of Lumina Television Network, a new faith-based, family-centered streaming platform designed as a home for inspirational, uplifting, and culturally meaningful storytelling.
